Using The Magnetic Golf Tee Putting Drill To Square Your Putter Face At Impact

Using The Magnetic Golf Tee Putting Drill To Square Your Putter Face At Impact

In this weeks golf tips video. Australian PGA Professional Brian Fitzgerald The Golf Doctor. Shows you a simple home made golf training aid using 2 magnets and 2 golf tees. This putting drill helps you to square your putter face through impact. Golf drills, particularly putter face drills are one of the basic skills we have got to have to be good at putting.

So I have got this new training device that I have made up.And I am pretty proud of myself.

It’s actually two magnets, attached to two golf tees.

So all I need to do is attach the tees to the clubface.

like that.

I give myself a bit of room.

When I putt. I’ve just got enough room here that I can swing my putter through and hit the ball without touching the golf tees.

I can do it from this angle as well.

If I want to make it harder. I can make it harder by making the distance closer.

So that even though I might be using a slight arc putting stroke. And most people do arc their putter.

Even though I am arcing. I still should be able to make nice contact. Through impact.

And I think this is one of the best exercises you can do at home on the carpet.

So if we get used to that. It will really help us a lot with our putting.

So I have got my putter set up here. I will swing the putter back and through and as long as i don’t touch the tees. It is a good putting stroke.

So I have a slight arc putter. Or a putting stroke turning the club face opening and closing a little bit.

But with my putter and those tees on the clubface. Even though I am doing it. I can still get the ball rolling nicely and get the putter square at impact.

So give that a go. It’s 2 magnets, 2 golf tees, a bit of super glue and if you can use that it will work brilliantly.

Now if you don’t have a stainless steel putter. Magnets won’t work on some of the new aluminium putters.

So what you can do is ah you can put a couple of elastic bands there. And I’ll put a link in the video at the top there on a video I have already made doing that.

So I hope you enjoy that tip.

Thank you for letting me help you with your golf.
