South Korean golfer Choi Ho-Sung will make his PGA Tour debut this Friday.
He’s already won over a global audience with his unique “fisherman’s swing,”
which has been a viral hit in the golfing world.

45-year-old Korean golfer Choi Ho-Sung is making his PGA Tour debut this Friday at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament.
Choi’s been the talk of the golfing world since last year when videos of his signature “fisherman’s swing” went viral on the internet. Choi had twice won tournaments on the Japan Gold Tour, most recently last November, when he won the Casio World Open.
Choi is currently ranked 194th in the world.
With no PGA Tour card, Choi got a sponsor’s exemption to take part in the tournament at Pebble Peach.
Choi’s popularity was apprent when he arrived in the U.S. Online, golfer Ryan Ruffels posted photos taken with Choi, saying he’d met his idol. And NFL player Aaron Rodgers posted the Korean phrase for “Let’s play golf.” The PGA homepage even put up an article titled “Everything you should know about Choi Ho-Sung.”
In a press conference, Choi has expressed pride in his swing, saying it’s his contribution to golf and he loves it.
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament teams up pairs of professionals and amateur golfers.
Choi’s partners will be actor Chris O’Donnell… and Aaron Rodgers, the football player.
