Chloë Angus Celebrates 10 Years of Style at Sold-out Runway Show – Exclusive Video
On February 11, 2015, Chloë Angus celebrated ten years in the fashion design business in the most glamourous way possible: on a 40 foot runway in front of a packed house of customers, buyers photographers, friends, and local celebrities. APTN’s Blackstone star Carmen Moore as well as Interstellar’s Leah Cairns were among the Hollywood North VIP’s to attend the event, rubbing shoulders with valued long-time customers and supporters, friends and colleagues, nieces and nephews. Sneak peeks of her Spring 2015 collection – including a striking black & white Haida printed dress alongside casually cool harem pants with a gauzy linen tank top – were featured alongside gorgeous custom ball gowns, cocktail dresses, and of course, her famous Button Wraps.
Chloë’s keen eye for detail, fit, and fabric were on full display at the sold out event, proceeds of which went to the local Aboriginal Mother Centre Society (www.aboriginalmothercentre.ca). Her collection of basics – the Bamboo Essentials, as she calls it – started the show off on a diverse group of models from all ages, sizes, and backgrounds. From light and casual leggings with an oversize shirttail tunic in a soft pastel pallet to the stark black and white Haida skirts and dresses, the runway was filled with gorgeous staples that would fit into any modern woman’s wardrobe. Hoots and hollers from the crowd pumped up the energy in the room as the models sauntered on and off the stage in more and more glamourous looks. We were all treated to some of Chloë’s finest creations – her custom gown collection brought together each year during her sponsorship work with the annual Leo Awards. Flowing silk dupioni, billowing silk taffeta, slinky & sexy charmeuse, and sparkly sequins rounded off the second half of the show, showcasing Angus’s inherent love for fashion and design. The finale featured local actress Laura Adkin full of smiles in a flirty and frothy pink custom gown featured in her short film, I Wanna Date U: The Movie for which Chloe designed the costumes. It was a delightfully fun and upbeat way to finish off a glamourous yet approachable collection of designs that brought the room to its feet.
Chloe’s new Spring collection of Bamboo Essentials is currently available on BC Ferries and will premiere in Toronto at the annual One Of A Kind show from March 25 – 29, 2015. In Vancouver, it will be available at the Chloe Angus Design HQ from April 13 – 18, 2015 during a public Open House.
