2017 / 2018 Fiat 500L Wagon | Cargo Space Review in 4K! | How Much Stuff Can Fit In That Trunk?

This Detailed Cargo Practicality Review of the 2017 Fiat 500L will cover the trunk space furnishings, the cargo capacity numbers, the actual usable cargo space, and how the cargo area of Fiat 500L stacks up to its competitor’s trunks overall. So buckle up, sit back, and relax because without a doubt this detailed trunk review will leave you knowing the 2017 Fiat 500L Easy, Pop, Trekking & Lounge’s trunks inside and “out”!

The Fiat 500L is actually Fiat’s largest offering in the United States. Despite it wearing the 500 logo, it is not to be confused with the smaller Fiat 500. Even though it carries many of the signature design cues from the 500, it is surprisingly more practical, and definitely, lives up to the 500L name (with “L” standing for Living Large).

The Fiat 500L’s trunk capacity numbers actually rank towards the top of its class (with the seats folded up). Only slotting in smaller than the Volkswagen Golf SportWagen, but triumphing all of its other competitors such as the Nissan Juke, the Mini Cooper Countryman, the Honda Fit, and the Kia Soul. As a result, the Fiat 500L appears to be an even more attractive entry in its class due to its extremely cavernous cargo area. That’s most apparent once you fold down (and tumble) the 60/40 split rear seats. Yes… The rear seats not only fold, but they also tumble! Inflating the cargo area even more. As a result, the 500L tops all of the vehicles previously mentioned… As far as cargo capacity numbers go.

In a nutshell, the Fiat 500L ‘packs’ quite a big punch when looking at the cargo area… Pun intended!

Afterall, the question is “How does all of that space translate to actual usable trunk space?”. There is only one way to find out…. By watching this “How Much Stuff Can You Fit In That Trunk?” Episode! So, let’s find out.

~ Brief Fiat 500L History:
When Fiat decided to return to the U.S., after a total of 27 years of absence, Fiat knew they had to hit hard! So, in 2012 Fiat introduced the Fiat 500 as their comeback vehicle.

Fast-forward two years and Fiat knew they were losing customers in a certain market… What about the people that had kids, and actually had to haul around items? That is when Fiat knew they had to offer a vehicle in the somewhat slow growing wagon/compact hatchback segment. So, back in 2014 Fiat introduced a brand new 4-door Hatchback… Wagon… Multi-Purpose Vehicle.

Behold, the 500L was introduced in the hopes to snag some more sales from the people who loved the spunky Italian looks of the Fiat 500, but needed the practicality of a 4-door hatchback.
