1 Positional and 3 Kinetic Moves for Power:
A. Swing Priority: SETUP with INTENT that left pant leg seam line to touch an imaginary wall behind tush line before impact at address and downswing are the most critical – keep the left hip deep away from the target line which will introduce torso side bend as the pant seam turns then go thru steps below:
1. Right hand wrist cocked up slightly so the clubhead feels shoulder height in elevation.
2. Clubhead Move/Hand Move for Lever Power – Ensure on the backswing get the clubhead behind the body away from the front, deep away from the target line similar to John Rahm at top of swing to provide lever power. (REMEMBER SWING IS AS MUCH BACK AND THRU AS IT IS BEHIND THE BODY AND IN FRONT OF THE BODY)
3. Lower Body Move – Turn the left pant leg seam line to touch an imaginary wall behind tush line before impact.
4. Upper Body Move – Lateral right side torso BEND while turning left shoulder behind left ear as the left pant leg seam line touches the imaginary wall.
‘The Wall’: refers to an imaginary plane placed along the buttocks when in the address position that is parallel to the target line.
Working The Ball:
Working the ball left to right, the clubhead moves more right then left of the body (3 o’clock to 9 o’clock), clubhead staying in front of the body.
Working the ball right to left, the clubhead moves more behind then front of the body (6 o’clock to 12 o’clock), clubhead going behind then in front of body.
Short Game Notes:
Putting Key (SC Phantom X 12, 31″): Right wrist cocked upwards slightly. Left elbow slightly away from left side torso. Center putter butt end with belly button. Turn front belly at an angle that feels 45 but is perpendicular to shaft. Match shaft and thigh angle. Remember the clubhead works a bit behind the body just like all swings.
Short Game: same as long game, maintain right wrist cock up slightly throughout short game swings including bunkers.
Bunker: same as short game listed in full swing but open club face for bounce and try to hit the shot fat (behind the ball).
The golf swing is not just the CLUBHEAD MOVING RIGHT TO LEFT (3 o’clock to 9 o’clock for right handed player), the CLUBHEAD MUST ALSO MOVE BEHIND TO FRONT OF THE BODY (6 o’clock to 12 o’clock) in order to produce power.
